I am a photographer capturing everyday life in small towns, rural landscapes, and lived-in scenes of the American Midwest. I am drawn toward the subtle stories embedded in the rugged beauty of its streets, buildings, objects, and people. My passion is to create images that provoke reflection, convey beauty, and encourage viewers to see familiar places in a new light.
I primarily use Fujifilm equipment for its portability and incredible color rendition. Over the years, I have also shot Canon, Panasonic, CampSnap, smartphones, and film. While much of my work focuses on small-town cityscapes and rural landscapes, I am also adept at portraiture, events, documentary and editorial, street photography, and weddings in the past.
My love for photography springs from a broader need for creative expression alongside playing music, writing, and drawing. More than a creative outlet, photography is personal therapy for me. Being in the moment - exploring, seeing, feeling, connecting, framing, capturing the moment, and later shaping the images in post - both soothes me and ignites my creativity. I value the calm I find while making images — whether it’s a few minutes with something that catches my eye or an extended outing.
My day job is in client-side advertising. I partner with creative agencies on live-action and animated video, plus digital, social, audio, and out-of-home creative.  I was born, raised, and currently live in Northern Illinois with my wife and three daughters.
